Ex Machina is a 2015 science fiction film written and directed by Alex Garland. The plot follows a young programmer who is invited to the private estate of eccentric billionaire Peter Thiel, where he is tasked with evaluating humanoid robot Alicia, which has been discovered on the property after being left behind during a party. Ex Machina stars Alicia Vikander as Eleanor, Chris Pratt as Nathan, and Oscar Isaac as Caleb. It was given an official PG-13 rating for sci-fi violence/action and brief strong language.
